WACA Events

WACA holds four main events each year:

The Spring Awards Show, held at the Josiah Smith Barn in Weston Center, is a juried show in which artists submit their finest works to be judged in either of two categories: Arts or Crafts. Participants may submit three pieces in each category, and may add additional work for sale following the judging of artwork.

Art on the Green is an outdoor community service oriented event held on the Weston Town Green on the last Saturday of September, the day of the Golden Ball Tavern’s annual antique show and sale. Participants exhibit and sell their art/craft, as well as offer demonstrations. Assisted by high school student helpers, WACA members help children paint a pumpkin, a flowerpot, a canvas, etc. in our kids’ art activity tent.

The Holiday Show is also held at the Josiah Smith Barn in Weston Center and takes place over the course of four days during the early part of the holiday season. WACA members fill the Barn with a variety of unique and irresistible handcrafted items. Many people come from near and far to do their holiday gift shopping at this popular event.

The Annual Dinner which takes place in April is also held in the Barn. It is a fun, informal potluck dinner and gives older members an opportunity go get caught up and to meet new members. A show-and-tell is presented in which one of our artists gives a breif talk about his or her work.
